Third-party chargers detected as "Unsupported USB-C Audio Adapter"

With my Evo 14 I use third-party chargers in combination with smart charging activated via BIOS settings. For some reason Windows thinks that those chargers are some sort of audio device and tries to use them accordingly, thus running into trouble* 'cause chargers ain't no speakers :-/

I do not want to abandon smart charging or may third-party chargers, either. Any ideas?

Good morning,

No, you only need to do it during the initial installation, not every time a driver is updated.

Please open a ticket and send us a video showing what is happening.

Yes, I followed the procedure. In February, when all the drivers were released, and again yesterday. For me, the Control center did never work. I just ignored it therefore.

If the order of installation is so crucial, there might never be a stable situation. What happens if one of drivers is updated by Windows one day? Do I need to get through this over and over again?

Good morning,

We use the Control Center daily, and it works well.

For it to function correctly, you must have installed the drivers from this list in the specified order.

Did you follow this procedure?

You can also open a support ticket and share photos and videos of the issue you're experiencing.

Update: I managed to re-install the Control Center app, but it is working. "The dots keep moving forever", see here, last post: https://slimbook.com/en/forum/questions-and-answers-from-the-slimbook-user-community-1/question/slimbook-control-center-in-a-windows-11-installation-1266

By the way: Smart charging is _not_ the cause of the problem. By now, I deactivated it, but I still encounter said problems.

Hi Ousama,

thank you for your reply.

1) Charger - My charger is an "Anker 317 (100 W)" which meets said specs.

2) Slimbook Center - I do not seem the have it installed (properly). I have a folder called "C:\Program Files\OEM\Slimbook Control Center", but there is nothing in it that makes any sense to me :-( Slimbook Center is nowhere in the download area that you linked, either. How to download and use it?

Best regards.

Dear Alucard,

we do encourage you to use the original charger or a similar one with these specs:

Included USB-C 100W charger
Output: 20.0V - 5.0A

In order to change the behaviour of your USB-C ports you can use Slimbook Center, this way you can avoid WIndows detecting your charger as an audio output:

https://cloud.slimbook.net/s/download?dir=/Laptops/Evo-14/Ryzen-8845HS/Drivers-Windows

Please make sure before running anything to have the drivers installed, you have to follow the specific order set by the numbers and reboot after each install.

My best regards.
