I recently bought a Slimbook One and am quite happy with it.

Specs:

SLIMBOOK ONE-AMD8

   32.0 GiB

   AMD Ryzen™ 7 8845HS w/ Radeon™ 780M Graphics × 16

   AMD Radeon™ 780M Graphics

RTL8821CE 802.11ac PCIe Wireless Network Adapter

   Realtek Semiconductor Corp. Bluetooth Radio

   4.0 TB

   Firmware Version:  5.29

  Fedora Linux 42 (Workstation Edition)

  GNOME Version:  48

  Windowing System:          Wayland

  Kernel Version:  Linux 6.15.6-200.fc42.x86_64

A few days ago I noticed, that Bluetooth and Wifi are not working (Wifi not even found).

Am I missing some necessary drivers here, or is it a kernel problem (or something else)?

Sadly I don't have the technical skills to help yo further. I just copied the solution from:

https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=290480

I'm running Debian Trixie on my Slimbook one.

Good morning,

Please try using a Slimbook LiveUSB to rule out any hardware issues.

Kind regards,

It seems I have the RTL8825BE https://www.realtek.com/Product/Index?id=583&cate_id=194

while you have the RTL8825Bhttps://www.realtek.com/Product/Index?id=585&cate_id=194

I didn't consider that the hardware could be defective, as the computer is brand new.  However, that seems to be the case.

Neither Wi-Fi nor Bluetooth work with Slimbook LiveUSB either. I will contact Slimbook by email and hope that they can fix this quickly.

Thank you all for the support.

Thanks for the link. Unfortunately, the suggested fix didn’t help.

Bluetooth (RTL8852BU) is working, but still no Wi-Fi device detected. lspci shows nothing, and iw dev returns no interfaces.
dmesg shows an ACPI BIOS error:

Could not resolve symbol [\_SB.PCI0.GPP6.WLAN], AE_NOT_FOUND
→ This suggests the Wi-Fi module is not exposed in the BIOS at all.

Looks like a hardware, BIOS, Kernel or firmware-level issue.

@magnus Thanks for your suggestions. I followed your instructions, and:

  • Created /etc/modprobe.d/rtw8852be.conf with the listed options

  • Added acpi_osi=Linux to GRUB and updated config

  • Secure Boot is disabled

  • Firmware for rtw89 is present (rtw8852b_fw.bin.xz etc.)

  • Modules rtw89_core and rtw89_pci are loaded (lsmod confirms)

  • Bluetooth works, firmware loads

  • But: no Wi-Fi device shows up (iw dev, lspci, rfkill, etc.)

  • lspci shows no Realtek device, even though it's physically present

Wi-Fi chip is still not detected at all, even though firmware and modules are in place. Possibly a PCI init or ACPI issue?

Any further ideas are welcome. Thanks again!

It is a driver problem. Create a file /etc/modprobe.d/rtw8852be.conf with the following contenet:

options rtw89_pci disable_aspm_l1=y disable_aspm_l1ss=y

options rtw89pci disable_aspm_l1=y disable_aspm_l1ss=y

options rtw89_core disable_ps_mode=y

options rtw89core disable_ps_mode=y

@Eusebio

I still have no solution, especially wifi does not even show up, although the driver is there. Seems to be a realtek special problem with linux. Any other ideas?

Good morning,

thank you. I tried 6.14 already - without success.

Are there some specific driver for realtek bluetooth & wifi, and where would I find them?

Best regards

Good morning,

In principle, the driver should be picked up without any issues on kernel version 6.14.

Best regards,
