Hello

I've just got the Elemental 14 with a i7-1355U and it's been really good so far!

However, I couldn't help but notice that the BIOS displayed the DRAM at 2667 MHz instead of 3200 MHz as advertised.

I should also say that this is with 2 new SO-DIMM DDR4 RAM-sticks installed that I bought separately since they were the fastest I could find.

I couldn't find anything in the BIOS regarding memory speed.

BIOS version is 1.07.11TGO1

Hello

Yes, this is very strange.

Everywhere I look the model number alludes to it being 3200 MHz RAM.

The stickers on the sticks says "IR-3200S464L16SA/8G"

My receipt from the store even says "PC4-25600" on the specifications.

I could only find a datasheet PDF on Goodrams webbsite, same thing there except the model number was missing the "A".

It has been too long since I bought the sticks so there would be no point in contacting the store.

If there is any solution or suggestion then i'll gladly take what I can get but, to be fair, had I not seen this on the BIOS then I probably wouldn't have noticed.

In the worst case, Goodram has intentionally put the false packaging and information on slower RAM.

If this seems to be a dead end then I understand, I thank you for the help anyway.

Dear Kevin,

the stick you bought with you laptop is indeed a Crucial 8GB stick that runs at 3200MHz,

but the new ones you acquired from Goodram are 2667MHz,

I could not find the manufacturer's website, but in this one it says that dram memory 2667:

"PC4-21300" that is the frequency for 2667mhz

https://www.memorybenchmark.net/ram.php?ram=Wilk+Elektronik+S.A.+IR3200S464L16SA%2F8G+8GB&id=20993

My best regards.

Hello

I reinstalled it and tested, it now displays 3200 MHz both in the BIOS and on dmidecode:

Dear Kevin,

did the original ram so-dimm that came with the laptop run at 3200mhz?

can you run the following command on your terminal?

sudo dmidecode --type memory

Paste on your next answer the result it returns.

My best regards.

Hello

I have a matching pair of 8GB 3200MHz CL16 RAM sticks, so 16GB essentially.

Dear Kevin,

the frequency  of the ram is set by default by the motherboard to ensure stability , when the RAM capacity is greater than 64GB the frequency is lowered for compatibilty reasons set by your laptop.

How much DRAM has your laptop now?
